Argentina manager Gerardo Martino has said that Carlos Tevez earned his place in the squad to face Croatia and Portugal.
The 30-year-old was named in La Albiceleste's squad for the first time since the 2011 Copa America earlier this month, and could feature against Croatia at Upton Park on Wednesday.
The striker has netted 10 times in all competitions for Juventus this season, and Martino revealed that he could not ignore the former Manchester City man's form.
"We are in a period of searching, not of confirmations," the former Barcelona boss told reporters.
"He has probably been one of the three best players in the past two Italian league seasons, so he deserves a place in the squad."
Despite more than three years without international football, Tevez has managed 13 goals in 64 appearances for his country.
