How Arsenal could line up against Watford

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Watford at Vicarage Road.

Arsenal travel to take on Watford on Sunday afternoon with both sides looking for a win after drawing their last game before the international break.

The Gunners delivered a strong second-half performance to draw 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur, while the Hornets picked up their first point of the season against Newcastle United.

Since their last game, Watford have had a change in the dugout, with former boss Quique Sanchez Flores coming back to replace fellow Spaniard Javi Gracia.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's showdown.

How Arsenal could line up against Watford

Out: Hector Bellerin (knee), Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Kieran Tierney (groin)
Doubtful: Granit Xhaka (calf), Lucas Torreira (muscle)

Despite his mistake in the North London derby, Bernd Leno should continue in goal for the Gunners and it is likely that he will have an unchanged back four in front of him as Rob Holding is not likely to be fit enough to start and both Tierney and Bellerin are about two weeks away from full fitness.

Xhaka picked up a calf problem while playing for Switzerland and, although the midfielder is in contention to feature, manager Unai Emery will probably opt to rest him with a view to the start of the Europa League group stage next week.

It is a similar story for Uruguay's Torreira, who missed his country's game with the United States because of muscular discomfort.

Their knocks are unlikely to force Arsenal to move away from the 4-3-3 they used against Spurs, with Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock likely to slot into the midfield alongside Matteo Guendouzi.

Up front, the Gunners selected Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe from the start in the North London derby and they are likely to again against Watford as they look to register their third league win of the new season.
