Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has reportedly put himself in contention for the club's Premier League opener with Manchester City.
Ramsey had been considered a doubt for Sunday's fixture at the Emirates Stadium due to sustaining a calf injury during the latter stages of pre-season.
However, according to the London Evening Standard, a return to training this week has resulted in the Wales international handing manager Unai Emery a fitness boost ahead of the visit of the top-flight champions.
Ramsey is said to have made an appearance among the rest of his teammates on Thursday, and the 27-year-old will now be considered for selection at the weekend.
The playmaker has been linked with a move away from the North London outfit all summer due to less than a year remaining on his contract, but it has been suggested that a new deal could be penned in the near future.
