Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck has reportedly undergone a second operation on the ankle injury sustained against Sporting Lisbon last week.
Welbeck was stretchered off after suffering a broken ankle in the Europa League fixture against the Portuguese giants, and the 27-year-old had surgery on the area the following day.
However, according to The Mirror, Welbeck has had a second operation to repair the damage, with the first performed to stabilise his ankle after falling awkwardly.
Manager Unai Emery has already acknowledged that the England international will be out for 'a long time', although the player is yet to be ruled out for the rest of the season.
Arsenal will hope to have Welbeck back in action before the end of the campaign, with the striker's contract expiring in the summer.
