Arsene Wenger "in shock" over Arsenal injuries

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that he is "in shock" over his side's injury woes after seeing three more players limp off during the 4-0 FA Cup win over Hull.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he was left shocked by his side's injury troubles during the 4-0 FA Cup win over Hull City this evening.

Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista and Aaron Ramsey were all forced off prematurely as the Gunners cruised into the quarter-finals at the KC Stadium, adding to an already lengthy injury list at the club.

There is a particular problem in defence, with Arsenal ending the match with Mathieu Flamini at right-back and Nacho Monreal partnering Calum Chambers in the middle, but Wenger is hopeful that the injuries to his two starting centre-backs are not serious.

"I'm a bit in shock there. We lost our two centre-backs in the game, and after we lost Aaron Ramsey," Wenger told BT Sport.

"Mertesacker is not serious, just a concussion, and I think Gabriel looks alright. Ramsey I am a bit more concerned [because it's] a muscle/thigh injury. But apart from that we have played well."

Arsenal already have Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky sidelined through injury.
