Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly decided to offer Mikel Arteta a position on his coaching staff at the end of the season.
The midfielder, who has struggled with a recurring calf injury of late, is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium in the summer and the club are not expected to extend his terms.
However, according to numerous reports, if the 33-year-old does opt to call time on his playing career, Wenger is keen for him to remain in North London.
The Spaniard is known to be taking his coaches badges and has spent some time leading the club's academy this term.
Arteta joined the Gunners from Everton in the summer of 2011.
