Arsenal are reportedly lining up an audacious swoop to land Manchester City chief Brian Marwood.
The 52-year-old joined the Citizens as football administrator in 2009, however he was downgraded to an executive position within the club's academy when Txiki Begiristain was appointed as sporting director in October.
It is believed that the Gunners board want to install a director of football at the Emirates Stadium in order to help manager Arsene Wenger recruit better players.
According to The People, Marwood is top of the club's shortlist.
During his playing days as a pacy winger, Marwood won the title with Arsenal in 1989.
