Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has rejected suggestions that he does not like to spend money following last summer's quiet transfer window at the Emirates.
The North London outfit recruited Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech for £11m, but no other players during the window.
After overseeing his side claim a 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Wenger jokingly responded when asked if he is cautious with money.
"No, I don't agree with you," Wenger told reporters. "If I invite you [out] one night, you will see that I like to spend money. It's you, the press, that gave me that reputation. My friends don't think that."
Arsenal will qualify for the last 16 in the Champions League if they manage to beat Olympiacos by two goals in the final round of group matches.
