Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has revealed that he has not given up on getting the chance to represent Spain.
The 30-year-old is yet to win a cap for his country, and despite success at Everton and now Arsenal, he has never even been called up to the squad.
"I'll keep trying and I'll never lose that desire to have the opportunity," he said. "Not only to win things but to win while enjoying your football in that group.
"I hope that one day I have the opportunity - even if it's just for one day - where I get to play and just enjoy being there."
Arteta was part of the Arsenal team that beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 yesterday.
