Sunderland striker Nicklas Bendtner has been banned from driving for 56 days and handed a £660 fine.
The Danish international, on loan from Arsenal, has been handed the punishment after he was clocked doing almost 104mph in his Porsche.
The 24-year-old was late for a flight from Newcastle Airport when he was caught by a Northumbria Police traffic officer on the A696, which has a 70mph limit, last December.
Bendtner did not appear before Newcastle magistrates for the hearing.
