Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has claimed that he had the potential to win the Ballon d'Or before being hit with numerous injuries during his time at Arsenal.
Diaby made just 182 appearances during an eight-and-a-half year spell with the Gunners, and the Frenchman feels that he had "no limits" before he spent a lot of his time at the Emirates Stadium in the treatment room.
The 30-year-old France Football: "I have no limits. Once upon a time, people would ask me about the Ballon D'Or.
"I told them I dreamt about it. I have always had big ambitions, like to become one of the best in my position. I think that I had the potential to achieve that.
"I am not saying it pretentiously, but some people in life are ambitious, others aren't."
Diaby - who now represents Marseille - is currently recovering from ankle surgery.
