Emmanuel Eboue has urged his teammates not to be intimidated when they face off against Manchester United on Sunday.
Despite the Red Devils’ current form - top of the Premiership and well on their way to the Champions League final - the Ivorian international insists that Arsenal should not be defeatist about their chances.
“We need to respect them and play our football, don’t be scared,” he told the Arsenal Vodcast. “Play our football and we will see after the game.”
Even though the Gunners stand little chance of taking the title at this point, a win against United would allow them to compete for second place.
Eboue went on to single out 37-year-old Ryan Giggs, who helped United to victory against Schalke last night, as a particular threat. “When he plays, he’s like 20 because he’s everywhere. So you have to be careful about him,” the defender warned.
Arsenal and Manchester United meet at Emirates on Sunday at 14.05.
