Mathieu Flamini has challenged Arsenal teammate Chuba Akpom to push on following his hat-trick against Singha All Star XI.
The 19-year-old found the net three times in Singapore on Wednesday as the Gunners reached the Premier League Asia Trophy final with a 4-0 triumph.
Flamini has now urged the youngster to stay focused if he wants to make a permanent impact on the senior team.
"He's in a very good team and he took his opportunities well against Singapore," he told the club's official website. "It's just important for him to now keep his belief, work hard and show that he has the quality when he is given another opportunity.
"The boss gave him the chance against Singapore and he performed well. He responded to every chance that he had and took his goals very well."
Arsenal will face Everton in the Premier League Asia Trophy final on Saturday following the Toffees' penalty-shootout victory over Stoke City.
