Carl Jenkinson has revealed that he is eager to make a good impression at West Ham United after joining the club on loan from Arsenal.
The 22-year-old defender moved to Upton Park on Saturday, signing a season-long deal with the Hammers.
Jenkinson now hopes to pay back the faith shown in him by manager Sam Allardyce by playing to his strengths during the new campaign.
"I'm coming into a new club and first and foremost I want to make a good impression on the gaffer, the players and everyone at the club," he told West Ham's official website.
"I spoke to the gaffer about how he sees me playing in this team and that was important for me because I want to be able to express myself and get up and down.
"I've learned to play how Arsenal play over the last three years and I am a very attacking full-back. I like to get up and down and I know I'm going to have the opportunity to do that here as well."
West Ham play their penultimate game of pre-season today when they face Schalke 04 in Germany.
