Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson has insisted that he and his teammates must overcome their Premier League opening day defeat.
The North London outfit, who have come under criticism for failing to bring any big-name signings into the club so far this summer, began their 2013-14 campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.
Following their disappointment in the league, Arsene Wenger's men will switch their attention to a Champions League qualifying clash against Fenerbahce on Wednesday.
"It could have been a completely different outcome on another day," Jenkinson told the club's official website. "We didn't get the rub of the green and sometimes you don't. That's just how football is.
"We're all incredibly disappointed and it's a game that we should have and we need to be winning. We've got to bounce back because we've got a massive game in midweek."
Meanwhile, the Arsenal Supporters' Trust has released a statement suggesting that the club should hold off plans to offer Wenger a new contract.
