The father of Arsenal youngster Marcelo Flores has confirmed that the playmaker has been called up to the first team for Monday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a stellar campaign at youth level for the Gunners with 10 goals and three assists in 20 matches across the Under-18 and Under-23 groups.
Flores's exploits at youth level have already seen him earn his first senior cap for the Mexico side, and the teenager is set to form part of the travelling party to Selhurst Park.
"So proud and excited with the first call up of @marceloflores with the first team @arsenal. Good luck son ❤️ you've been preparing all your life for moments like this," Ruben Flores posted on social media.
Flores is still waiting for his senior debut for Mikel Arteta's side but has featured eight times in the Premier League 2 this term - scoring three goals and setting up one more.
Flores made his debut for Mexico off the bench in a 2-2 friendly draw with Chile last year and previously represented Ipswich Town's academy before heading to Arsenal in 2019.
