Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan describes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the "best teammate" he has ever had and is delighted to have been reunited with the striker.

Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has expressed his delight at being reunited with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates Stadium.

The pair formed a prolific partnership during their time together at Borussia Dortmund and both sealed January moves to Arsenal, wasting little time in rekindling their relationship as Mkhitaryan laid on a debut goal for Aubameyang during the 5-1 win over Everton.

Mkhitaryan has talked up how much he enjoys playing alongside the Gabon international, describing Aubameyang as the best teammate he has ever had.

"I think it could only be in a dream that we could join another club other than Dortmund but I am very happy for that," Mkhitaryan is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"I have known him very well, he is one of my best friends and the best teammate I have ever had. I am very happy to have him here and I think all the fans are happy to see him in an Arsenal shirt.

"What can I say? I love playing with him. I can understand him from one step and hopefully for the next games we are going to achieve more."

Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang are both expected to get their first taste of a North London derby when they face Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Saturday.
