Arsenal full-back Nacho Monreal has revealed that he was "fascinated" by Roberto Carlos as a youngster.
The Spanish defender joined the Gunners from Malaga last month and has since made two appearances for the club.
In an interview with the club's official website, Monreal conceded that he has tried to model his game on former Real Madrid and Brazil defender Carlos.
"From a young age I was fascinated by Roberto Carlos as he is, in my opinion, the best left-back of all time," Monreal told the club's official website.
Carlos, 39, called time on his career last year following a stint with Anzhi Makhachkala. He is now the Russian club's sporting director.
