Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said that his side were in defensive control as they held Arsenal to a goalless draw at the Emirates this evening.
The Blues had to withstand mounting pressure in the closing stages of the game, as Olivier Giroud wasted a good chance and Bacary Sagna had a header cleared off the line.
"It was a tactical match. A match that Arsenal want to win but didn't want to lose and Chelsea wants to win but doesn't want to lose," Mourinho told Sky Sports News after the game.
"We had the biggest chance of the game, I'm glad we have goalline technology so nobody could complain when Frank Lampard hit the crossbar.
"The goalkeeper was not in the game, we controlled the game defensively. We let Mikel Arteta play the ball from side to side, we were completely under control. It was important not to lose and be five points behind the leaders."
The result means that Chelsea occupy fourth position in the Premier League table.
