Arsenal have revealed that Nicolas Pepe has a chance of making his debut for the club in Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Pepe arrived at the Emirates Stadium in a club-record deal this summer, with the Gunners paying in the region of £72m to land the attacker on a long-term contract.
The 24-year-old has not played any pre-season football this summer following his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
A statement on Arsenal's official website has revealed that the Ivory Coast international is pushing to be involved against the Magpies this weekend.
"[Pepe is] regaining full match fitness following late return from African Cup of Nations. Decision to be made on participation for Sunday," read the statement.
A busy transfer window also saw Unai Emery's side secure deals for William Saliba, Kieran Tierney, David Luiz, Gabriel Martinelli and Dani Ceballos, although Saliba has remained on loan with Saint-Etienne.
