Renato Sanches will push for a transfer away from Lille this January amid links with a move to the Premier League, according to a report.
The 24-year-old midfielder has long been linked with a move back to one of the European giants, following his difficult spell at Bayern Munich a few years ago.
Now according to Sport Italia, Sanches has put contract talks on hold at the French champions, in the hope of forcing a move away from the club as early as this month.
Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are just two of the latest clubs linked with a move for the midfielder in recent weeks and months.
The Portuguese international finds himself in a strong bargaining position, with his contract set to expire in 18 months time, although Lille have been eager to extend his stay in France.
After making 23 appearances in their title-winning campaign last season, Sanches has continued to impress this season during his 13 Ligue 1 appearances so far, despite his side struggling down in eighth place.
Following a move to Bayern for around £31.5m back in 2016 whilst aged just 18-years-old, Sanches struggled to live up to the hype in Germany, and after enduring a difficult loan spell at Swansea City as well, he was then sold to Lille in 2019 for around £18m. body check tags ::
