The Football Association has confirmed that vanishing spray will be used in Sunday's Community Shield match between Manchester City and Arsenal at Wembley.
The spray was introduced at the World Cup in Brazil this summer for referees to mark the position of a free kick.
The Premier League announced last week that it will adopt the system this season, but the spray will first be used at Wembley this weekend, according to Sky Sports News.
Top-flight clubs will begin their domestic campaign next weekend.
