Arsene Wenger admits that his troublesome winter coat he often wore as Arsenal manager was "too long".

Arsene Wenger has admitted that the coat he wore on the touchline as Arsenal manager was "too long".

The Frenchman was often captured sporting a long winter jacket which he would regularly struggle to zip up properly - often getting the zip halfway up the jacket before it snagged - as he patrolled the touchline.

Wenger has been out of work since leaving the Emirates in May 2018 after 22 years at the club, during which he won 10 major trophies.

Speaking in an interview with beIN Sports when he was asked about his coat problems, Wenger said: "The coat was too long.

"In winter, when it flexes, it doesn't do well. It became ridiculous but it was always like that."

"I had cold hands as well, sometimes, in winter. My technique must not have been great because basically you have your attention somewhere else. Every second on the field catches your attention."

The 69-year-old recently admitted that he was considering an offer to work as a technical director at FIFA.

However, Wenger has made it clear that he wants a return to management, noting earlier this year that he dreamed of managing a nation at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
