Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that Petr Cech affected Chelsea's players as his side won the Community Shield on Sunday.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper made his first competitive appearances for the Gunners since joining them from the Blues last month, and went on to keep a clean sheet as his new team emerged 1-0 winners at Wembley.
Cech made a number of saves to keep Chelsea at bay and Wenger has claimed that his influence helped Arsenal to emerge victorious against Jose Mourinho's men.
"He did well. Maybe he had an influence on the Chelsea players as well because they felt that to score against him they had to score the perfect goal," Wenger, told Reuters.
"When you have that sometimes you want to try too hard. It happened especially with Eden Hazard when he had that chance in the box."
Cech spent 11 years at Chelsea before joining Arsenal.
