Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has spoken of his delight at the club's "perfect week" following the 2-1 victory over Everton on Saturday evening.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny lifted the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table just four days after the London side beat German champions Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Emirates in the Champions League.
Although the Frenchman accepts that it is too early in the season to read too much into Arsenal's position, he admitted that it had been the ideal week for the club.
"It is a perfect week and it is not easy to have that," he told talkSPORT. "I believe that we will keep that solidarity, that desire to do well and I think we are well focused to do well and together we have improved on that front and we know that when we have the ball we can create chances.
"We went to Watford and won 3-0 and beat Bayern Munich 2-0 and beat Everton tonight in one week, it has been a fantastic week. It is not easy. The only negative is that we lost some players through in jury during the week.
"I will have to rest some players on Tuesday night against Sheffield [Wednesday in the League Cup fourth round] as I think for some players I think it will be one game too many."
After facing Championship side Wednesday at Hillsborough on Tuesday night, the Gunners face a trip to Swansea City in the Premier League next weekend.
