Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has compared the arrival of midfielder Mesut Ozil to that of Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp.
Many consider the Dutchman as a crucial part of the North London outfit's previous success following his switch from Inter Milan to Arsenal in 1995.
The Gunners smashed their club record to sign Bergkamp, and they repeated that on deadline day by acquiring Ozil from Real Madrid for £42.5m.
"It is comparable because they are similar players in the same department and they are big names who come from big teams," Wenger told the club's official website.
"You must say as well that Ozil was not perceived as being a failure at Real Madrid, he was perceived by the whole world as being a huge success at Real Madrid so of course the noise made by a signature like that is big."
Ozil is expected to make his debut against Sunderland tomorrow.
