Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has praised Olivier Giroud for bouncing back from his disappointing performance against Monaco to score against Everton in their 2-0 victory at the Emirates today.
The striker admitted that he was embarrassed by his miss against Monaco, but Wenger is happy the Frenchman has put it behind him.
"Olivier has one great quality; when his back is to the wall he has the personality to respond," Wenger said in his post-match press conference.
"Because I know him better now, that's why I kept him in the team.
"I'm not happy only because he scored the goal but because of his work-rate. He's an important player in the box and with his presence up front and defensively."
Arsenal move up to third in the table, climbing above Manchester United in the process.
