Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur have referee Mark Clattenburg to thank for earning a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
The North London rivals played out a fairly uneventful tie on Sunday afternoon, as a Harry Kane penalty in the second half helped to cancel out Kevin Wimmer's earlier own goal.
Wenger felt that Victor Wanyama should have seen red after catching Theo Walcott with his elbow, while also questioning the official's decision to award a spot kick when Laurent Koscielny brought down Mousa Dembele.
"[Wanyama] was very lucky to stay on the pitch today, of course," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I think the penalty was harsh because from where I sit it looked harsh. It didn't look dangerous to score and it didn't look a foul from outside.
"After, speaking to some referees they could give it or not give it. Personally as the manager of Arsenal Football Club, I prefer not to give it."
Spurs, who end the weekend in fifth place, have now beaten Arsenal just once in the last 27 meetings at the home of their rivals.
