Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: 'Too early for us to talk about title'

Arsene Wenger believes that it is too early to talk about Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League title.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his side's Premier League title credentials can be judged only after six more games.

The Gunners are currently third in the table with eight points from four matches, two points behind leaders Chelsea.

"We will know after 10 games," the Frenchman told Arsenal's official website. "I think we have a chance to develop well and keep our attitude.

"At the moment I don't know how strong our opponents are."

Wenger added that he was pleased with Arsenal's 6-1 victory over Southampton at the Emirates on Saturday.

"You ask anybody that has watched the game and we looked like a real team that wants to play together," he said. "That's the impression I get from our game. At Liverpool and again on Saturday we looked a really close team.

"This year we have started better. Maybe last year in September we were already out of the title race. That was a bit more difficult mentally.

"The vibes coming out is that we look like a good team and we enjoy to play together. That is a good base and is interesting."

Arsenal are back in action on Tuesday when they take on Montpellier in France in their opening Group B game of the Champions League.
