Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged fans to be "patient" over the progress of midfielder Jack Wilshere.
The 20-year-old returned to action for the first time in over a year in the Gunners' late 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.
"People have to be a little bit patient to see the best of him again," Wenger told the club's official website.
"Even if he's not 100% today, he still shows in aspects of the game that he is a classy player. He is special. People who understand football understand that he is a good player."
The Frenchman also insisted that he will speak to England manager Roy Hodgson about leaving Wilshere out of the squad for the Three Lions' friendly against Sweden next month.
