Arsene Wenger admits that his Arsenal players must win another trophy before repeating the scenes of celebration which followed the victory at Manchester City.

Arsene Wenger has warned his Arsenal players not to go "too far" with their celebrations in the wake of last weekend's victory against Manchester City.

A number of the squad's travelling party took to social media to post celebratory selfies following the Gunners' 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium, which led to some outside criticism.

Former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher was among those to ridicule the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Wenger admits that his players must control themselves until they win another trophy.

"You celebrate with pictures at the end of the season when you have won a cup," the Daily Star quotes the Frenchman as saying. "You have to be natural in that but it can go overboard sometimes. But I don't think it was a demonstration of arrogance.

"It was a demonstration of just happiness. I think in life if you are happy you can express it. You don't necessary have to control your desires, just as long as it is respectful. I don't think it was disrespectful.

"I am not a big fan of social media because I think the happiness you want to share should be with your teammates, not everybody else. But life is different now, you have to accept that fact. Youngsters today have a different way of expressing themselves. However, it must be respectful. There are limits. It can go too far."

Arsenal are in action later today when they travel to Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
