Arsene Wenger: 'We will learn from late Crystal Palace scare'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that his side will have learned a lot from their late scare in their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels that his side will have learned a valuable lesson to keep on their guard for the full 90 minutes after being given a late scare in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

The Gunners took a 2-0 lead into the break at Selhurst Park as Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud fired them ahead.

However, the Eagles put the pressure on Wenger's men in the second half and carved out several chances before Glenn Murray got a goal back in the 94th minute, but Arsenal managed to hold out for the win despite a tense finish.

Wenger told reporters: "We can learn from every game. I believe that the players know that maybe they switched off a little bit too early. Overall I still must say that our central defenders played very well today against a very direct and a very physical game at the back.

"They did well so overall I'm pleased to have won three points in a place like this. We know now that we have played two more away games [than home games] and it will be down to how strong we are at home. I feel quite strong and let's just continue to fight and be tight until the end."

Arsenal moved into third place in the Premier League following their win over Palace.
