Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has tipped club legend Dennis Bergkamp to return to North London in a coaching capacity at some point in the future.
The Dutchman, now assistant to Frank de Boer at Ajax, recently expressed an ambition to resume his Gunners career from the dugout in the coming years following a successful 11-year stint with the club as a player.
Asked whether or not an opportunity may materialise for the former Netherlands international, Wenger said: "I am not against it one day," he told the club's official website.
"One, he has the qualities, but you need to have the need as well because we have a big staff already.
"He is now at two clubs that made Dennis Bergkamp. The first, and certainly the most important one, is Ajax. He is at Ajax now and a coach there. The second club that is important in his life is Arsenal. Maybe that will be the next step!"
The 44-year-old was present for the unveiling of his statue outside the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
