Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has claimed that the atmosphere in the squad is the best that he has seen during his time at the club.

The Gunners are currently at the top of the Premier League table thanks to eight wins from their opening 11 games of the campaign.

Wilshere believes that the team's strong form is down to the blend of personalities in the dressing room at the Emirates Stadium.

"At the moment I would probably say it's the best atmosphere I've ever been in the dressing room," he told the club's official website.

"There are some real characters in there, some funny guys and some serious guys, there are professional guys who want to get things done and don't like people being late, so everyone's disciplined."

Arsenal continue their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they entertain Southampton.
