Arsenal lineup vs. Tottenham: Predicted XI for Premier League North London derby including two shock starters

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Wednesday's Premier League North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been handed another pair of untimely injury concerns ahead of Wednesday's tantalising Premier League North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.

The Gunners lost Gabriel Jesus to a serious-looking knee problem in Sunday's FA Cup defeat to Manchester United, while Riccardo Calafiori was ruled out of the third-round clash with a new muscular issue.

Whether Calafiori is able to shake off his concern in time remains to be seen, but Arteta has conceded that Jesus's injury appears severe amid fears that he has suffered an ACL tear.

The Gunners are also guaranteed to be without Ethan Nwaneri (muscle), Bukayo Saka (hamstring), Ben White (knee) and Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) for a little while longer, leaving Arteta down to the bare bones on the right flank.

Raheem Sterling did have a couple of bright moments after replacing Jesus at the weekend, so the Chelsea loanee may very well have played his way into a North London derby start, while Leandro Trossard could provide fresh legs over Gabriel Martinelli on the opposite flank.

However, Arteta has no other option than to continue with the increasingly wasteful Kai Havertz in the striker's spot, but he can bring two midfield enforcers back into the fray; Thomas Partey and Declan Rice will certainly replace Jorginho and Mikel Merino.

It should be largely as you were at the back, but there is scope for Kieran Tierney to take Myles Lewis-Skelly's place at left-back; the Scotsman was peculiarly selected to come off the bench ahead of Oleksandr Zinchenko at the weekend.

Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Sterling, Havertz, Trossard
