Arsenal made it eight consecutive wins in the Premier League on Saturday with a 1-0 victory away to Burnley.

The only goal of the game came on 11 minutes when Aaron Ramsey smashed home following a scramble in the penalty area.

Burnley fought hard in the second half in an attempt to earn themselves a share of the spoils, but they were unable to breach the Gunners' defence.

Goal

Tom Heaton: A solid display from the Burnley shotstopper, who was unable to keep out Ramsey's fierce drive early on. Commanded his area well. (6/10)

Defence

Kieran Trippier: The tenacious full-back fought doggedly for much of the game, though he was exposed out wide on more than one occasion. (6/10)

Michael Duff: Struggled to contain Arsenal's slippery attackers. A disappointing evening was compounded when he got himself booked for dissent. (5/10)

Jason Shackell: Similar to his fellow centre-back, Shackell was often overwhelmed by the opposition and their dynamism up front. (5/10)

Ben Mee: One of Burnley's better players on the night. Bombed up and down the left flank with plenty of energy. (7/10)

Midfield

George Boyd: Did not shy away from getting on the ball and trying to make something happen for his team. Could have equalised in the second half, but he scuffed his volley. (7/10)

Scott Arfield: A subdued performance from midfield. Was unable to offer much to the Clarets going forward. (5/10)

David Jones: Did a respectable job of anchoring the hosts. However, his lacklustre control gifted Arsenal possession a couple of times. (6/10)

Ashley Barnes: Put himself about in central areas with some tough tackling and quick running. Should have been booked for a poor challenge on Bellerin. (6/10)

Attack

Danny Ings: Despite being forced to create his own chances up front, the striker impressed with his determination and persistence. (7/10)

Sam Vokes: Did not make as big an impact as his partner in attack. That said, he had a good opportunity to give Burnley the lead early on. (6/10)

Substitutes

Matty Taylor: Only had a handful of seconds on the pitch after coming off the bench deep in added time and failed to make any kind of impression. (5/10)

Goal

David Ospina: Pulled off a couple of fine saves to keep Arsenal's lead intact. His performance will have filled Arsene Wenger with plenty of encouragement. (7/10)

Defence

Hector Bellerin: Looked composed at right-back, fulfilling his duties at the back and going forward. (6/10)

Per Mertesacker: His lack of pace was tested a few times, but the German played a key part whenever Arsenal had to soak up any pressure. (6/10)

Laurent Koscielny: Got his body in front of a couple of fierce shots during the game. Stood firm with Mertesacker to help protect Arsenal's lead. (6/10)

Nacho Monreal: A positive 90 minutes for the Spaniard, who looked comfortable at both ends of the pitch. (6/10)

Midfield

Francis Coquelin: Did not always assert himself as much as we are used to seeing, but his reliability allowed Arsenal's more attacking players to zoom forward. (6/10)

Santi Cazorla: Was often involved in the away team's best attacks with his clever movement and superb technical ability. (7/10)

Aaron Ramsey: Gave the visitors the lead with a thumping finish inside a crowded box. Struggled to have a big impact after that, though he linked well with his teammates. (6/10)

Mesut Ozil: An erratic evening for the German as he drifted in and out of the game with his trademark unpredictability. (6/10)

Attack

Alexis Sanchez: Worked like a dog up front, using his pace and strength to keep the Burnley defenders on their toes. Deserved a goal for his industry. (8/10)

Olivier Giroud: Rolled around and won fouls a bit too often as he failed to make it seven consecutive Premier League games in which he found the net. (6/10)

Substitutes

Danny Welbeck: Added something extra to Arsenal's attacking play with his pace when he entered the action on 82 minutes. (7/10)

Calum Chambers: Only had a few seconds on the pitch during injury time and did not make much use of them. (5/10)
