Goals were at a premium once again in the Premier League this weekend, but that did not mean that there was a shortage of excitement and drama.

Liverpool maintained their 100% start to the season with a 1-0 win over Manchester United, while Arsenal got one over on local rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City returned to winning ways against Hull City, while there were also victories for Swansea City, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Norwich City and Crystal Palace.

Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur)
The Frenchman pulled off a string of fine saves to keep his side in the North London derby against Arsenal, but it was not to be for Spurs as they slumped to their first defeat of the season.

The England international did well to keep Manchester United at bay as the Reds saw off their nearest and dearest.
Per Mertesacker (Arsenal)
The Gunners rallied against the odds to beat big-spending Spurs, and a large part of that victory was down to a solid defence led by Mertesacker.
Martin Skrtel (Liverpool)
Despite having struggled with injury in recent weeks, Skrtel came back into the Liverpool side for their win over Manchester United with a performance that was both commanding and committed.
Carl Jenkinson (Arsenal)
The youngster looked very composed at full-back, nullifying Spurs on the flanks during Arsenal's derby triumph.

Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United)
He may have came off the bench late on against Fulham, but Ben Arfa's impact was a huge one as he scored a wonderful winner for the Magpies.
Tomas Rosicky (Arsenal)
The Czech ran the show from midfield for large parts of his side's win against Spurs, linking play well in attack while working hard in defence when necessary.
Tom Huddlestone (Hull City)
It may have been an ultimately fruitless afternoon for the Tigers at Manchester City, but Huddlestone's consummate display showed what a shrewd piece of business he is for manager Steve Bruce.

Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
Walcott was a constant threat out wide for Arsenal as they defeated bitter rival Spurs, often tearing Danny Rose to shreds with his pace and directness.
Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
The striker has almost single-handedly propelled the Merseysiders to the top of the table after three games and he was the difference once again on Sunday by scoring the winner against Manchester United.
Michu (Swansea City)
The Spaniard made life difficult for West Bromwich Albion during Swansea's victory at The Hawthorns with his incisive passing and clever movement.

Kyle Walker: The full-back had a bit of a nightmare against Arsenal as Tottenham Hotspur were humbled by their neighbours in the North London derby.
