Jack Wilshere continued his recovery from a lengthy injury layoff with a goal for Arsenal's Under-21s this evening.
The midfielder has not played a competitive fixture since last June because of a fractured leg.
However, he appears to be closing in on a return to first-team action after finding the net for the second string against West Bromwich Albion.
The young Gunners were 1-0 down when in the 51st minute Wilshere took the ball under control and then lobbed Alex Palmer in the West Brom goal.
Yet, it was the Baggies that went on to win the encounter 2-1 thanks to Samir Nabi's effort 15 minutes from time.
