AC Milan have reportedly upped their interest in Cagliari Calcio midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The Italy international attracted strong interest from the Premier League during the January transfer window, with Arsenal and Chelsea both said to be admirers of the player.
However, a move never materialised, and there have been suggestions that Barella may prefer to continue playing in Serie A at this stage of his career.
According to Sky Italia, Milan have made contact with Cagliari to discuss a deal for Barella ahead of the summer window.
The report claims that Milan sporting director Leonardo and Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini have held talks, although it is alleged that Barella could cost in the region of €50m (£43.16m).
