AC Milan are reportedly set to revive their interest in Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun, who is currently enjoying a successful loan spell with Reims in Ligue 1.

AC Milan are reportedly set to renew their interest in Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, who is on loan with Ligue 1 club Reims.

The 21-year-old has risen through the academy ranks at Arsenal, where he has made 10 appearances for the senior side, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Balogun is currently on loan at Reims, and he has enjoyed a successful season, scoring 15 goals in 22 league appearances.

The Arsenal loanee is the top scorer in Ligue 1, having registered more league goals than the likes of Paris Saint-Germain trio Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Balogun's performances have helped his side embark on a 15-game unbeaten run in the league, and Reims boss Will Still was keen to make his loan move a permanent one in January.

Arsenal decided to reject the proposal, but the Gunners could attract further interest in Balogun during the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, AC Milan are set to renew their attempts to sign the England Under-21 international after previously being linked with a move in 2021.

Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has only recently recovered from a long-term injury, are out of contract at the end of the season and as it stands, new deals have not been agreed.

Milan also have Divock Origi on their books, after signing him on a free transfer from Liverpool last summer, but he has struggled to hit the ground running, scoring just two goals in 15 appearances.

As a result of their current forward situation, the Rossoneri are looking to strengthen in the final third, and Balogun appears to have been identified as a potential option.

There is also believed to be interest from elsewhere, with Marseille and Villarreal among Balogun's admirers.

The forward has a contract with the Gunners until June 2025, and they are still to decide whether to cash in on him during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently indicated that he could give no assurances about Balogun's long-term future at the club.

If the striker did return to the Emirates in the summer, he would be competing with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah for a place in the side.

Balogun will be looking to continue his impressive run of form when Reims travel to the French Riviera to face Nice on Saturday. body check tags ::
