Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has rejected suggestions that Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham.
The 23-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge during this summer's transfer window, and a number of clubs, including West Ham United and Aston Villa, have been linked with a move.
A recent report claimed that Arsenal were on the verge of winning the race for the England international, who would move to the Gunners on loan with an obligation to buy.
However, according to Romano, while Mikel Arteta's side 'like' Abraham, the London club are 'not in advanced talks' over a deal for the centre-forward.
The Englishman has scored 30 times and registered 12 assists in 82 appearances for Chelsea, including 12 goals and six assists in 32 outings in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
Abraham's current deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in June 2023, but the Blues are still believed to value him in the region of £40m. body check tags ::
