Arsenal are reportedly edging towards a deal for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
The Ghana international is rumoured to be a priority target for the Gunners ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, and a recent report suggested that Arsenal could look to use a £3m windfall from Liverpool's Premier League title win as part of their efforts to sign the midfielder.
Partey has impressed in the middle of the park for Atletico this season, making 40 appearances for Diego Simeone's side across all competitions and chalking up three goals and one assist.
According to Spanish outlet La Razon, Arsenal are on the verge of sealing a deal for the 27-year-old despite the financial concerns arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
Mikel Arteta is expected to be working with a restricted budget this summer in the wake of the viral outbreak, but the report claims that the Gunners will be able to meet Partey's £47m release clause without problem.
Partey's current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano is set to expire in the summer of 2023.
