Arsenal, Everton 'leading race for Sander Berge'

:Headline: Arsenal, Everton 'leading race for Sander Berge':
Arsenal and Everton reportedly emerge as the frontrunners to sign Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge.
Sports Mole

Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsenal and Everton.

The highly-regarded Norway international has been restricted to 14 Premier League appearances this season due to a hamstring injury.

However, with the Blades having been relegated to the Championship, the 23-year-old will inevitably receive interest during the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports News, Berge's release clause has been reduced to £35m as a result of Sheffield United returning to the second tier.

The report adds that the Gunners and Toffees are now considering making an offer for the player as they bid to improve their respective squads.

While parachute payments will put Sheffield United in a strong position to rebuff any bids lower than the set amount, the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic may lead to the Yorkshire outfit being willing to negotiate with any interested clubs. body check tags ::
