Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly expected to rival Arsenal for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.
With the Gunners set to return to the Champions League next season, Mikel Arteta is keen to add strength in depth to his squad.
One area where the Arsenal boss will look to strengthen is in the final third, and Diaby has emerged as a potential target.
The Frenchman was linked with a move to the North London club in January, but Leverkusen were unwilling to lose a key player at the halfway point of the season.
The Gunners are expected to renew their interest in the summer, and they will have to pay a considerable fee to prise Diaby away from Leverkusen with two years left on his contract.
Leverkusen, who bought Diaby from PSG for £13m in 2019, have reportedly set an asking price of £65m for the France international.
Newcastle United were said to be interested in Diaby, but a recent report claimed that they have cooled their interest to pursue a move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
However, Arsenal are not expected to have a free run at Diaby, with the Evening Standard reporting that PSG are looking to re-sign their academy graduate.
With Lionel Messi and Neymar heading towards the exit door at the Parc des Princes, PSG are set to change their transfer strategy.
Rather than signing high-profile players, the Parisians are turning their focus to recruiting young French talents.
As well as targeting Diaby, PSG are believed to be targeting Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Olise, who is a France Under-21 international.
Diaby, meanwhile, registered four goals and seven assists in 34 appearances for PSG before he departed the Parc des Princes four years ago.
Since joining Leverkusen, he has featured in 167 games in all competitions, scoring 49 goals and providing 48 assists. body check tags ::
