Arsenal are targeting Hamburger SV keeper Rene Adler to be their number one next season, according to a report.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has sent scouts to watch the 28-year-old and has been impressed with the feedback he has received.
Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic is also a target but Wenger feels that he would rather pay the £5m for Adler rather than the £15m it would take to prise Begovic from the Potters, reports The People.
Wenger is hopeful that the German international will be able to hold down the goalkeeping position for the near future after Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski both failed to grasp their opportunities.
