Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly planning to keep Eddie Nketiah in his squad, at least in the short term.
With 38 goals and seven assists from 168 appearances in all competitions, the forward has proven to be a valuable member of the senior ranks since progressing from the academy.
However, with the Gunners now Premier League title challengers, contributing just five goals - three of which came in the same game - and two assists across 27 appearances in 2023-24 was deemed not good enough.
As a result, there is a willingness on Arsenal's part to cash in on the 25-year-old, who is aware that he may receive fewer opportunities next season.
The North Londoners allegedly value the England international in the region of £30m, it yet to be officially determined whether any club is willing to meet those demands.
Nketiah to spend time with Arsenal in pre-season
Nevertheless, there are an array of admirers in Nketiah's signature, with the likelihood being that a deal will be successfully negotiated with at least one of his suitors.
According to Football Insider, though, Arteta still plans on taking Nketiah on the club's pre-season tour of the United States.
Their first fixture across the pond is due to take place against Bournemouth on July 24, with their departure to that part of the world now imminent.
Arsenal will participate in three matches in the USA before they return back to Europe to take on Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon.
Nketiah could theoretically remain with the group until that point, with teams in the Premier League and on the continent monitoring the situation.
Who has been linked with Nketiah?
There is no shortage of teams interested in the frontman, including London clubs West Ham United and Crystal Palace who are seemingly deliberating whether to spend big on the player.
The report adds that Everton are holding an interest from afar, with other business likely to dictate whether they make a formal bid.
As it stands, though, Marseille may be the favourites. A report from Canal+ has claimed that the French giants are willing to meet Arsenal's demands and Nketiah is open to making the transfer to the Stade Velodrome.
That is despite Marseille seemingly making a breakthrough in their efforts to acquire the services of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United. body check tags ::
