Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly received the offer of a contract extension at Arsenal as the Gunners attempt to fend off competition for the striker.

Gabon international Aubameyang is about to enter the final year of his Emirates Stadium deal and has been tipped to leave this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are considered the favourites to sign the 30-year-old, while Barcelona and Real Madrid are also rumoured to be in the running for his signature.

However, French outlet L'Equipe reports that Arsenal have not given up hope of tying their skipper down to a new deal before the transfer window opens.

The Premier League side are said to have opened initial talks with Aubameyang over fresh terms and are now awaiting a response.

Aubameyang has scored 61 goals in just 97 games for Arsenal since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
