Arsenal are allegedly considering a move for 21-year-old Peruvian right-back Jhilmar Lora.

The defender is currently on the books with Sporting Cristal in his homeland and has already become league and cup champion with his boyhood club.

Lora's contract with the Peru giants is due to expire in 2023, though, and clubs across Europe have been alerted to his rise after breaking into the Sporting Cristal first team.

According to football.london, Arsenal are aiming to dip into the South American market for new acquisitions ahead of the 2022-23 season and have identified Lora as a possible target.

The report adds that Mikel Arteta and Edu both want to identify fresh talent from the continent, with Lora already making six appearances for the Peru national team and claiming one assist.

The right-back has four assists to his name from 42 senior appearances at Sporting Cristal and was a regular starter for his club during the 2021 Copa Libertadores group stages.
