Arsenal will reportedly not continue in their attempts to sign AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar until they have offloaded their fringe players.
Manager Arsene Wenger has 33 players at his disposal, but it has been suggested that he is struggling to sell the deadwood.
It is believed that players are unwilling to lower their wage demands to join other clubs, which is making it harder for Arsenal to get rid.
According to Sky Sports News, the North London outfit will not bring in more new faces until they deal with the size of the squad.
Lemar has been heavily linked with a £45m move to the Gunners, who will feel encouraged by reports that the 21-year-old has informed Monaco that he wants to leave.
So far, Arsenal have recruited Sead Kolasinac and £52m club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette this summer.
