Arsenal are reportedly preparing to offer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a new £250,000-a-week contract in a bid to keep the Gabon international at the club.
The 31-year-old has been in impressive form for the Gunners during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 25 times in 42 appearances in all competitions, including 20 Premier League goals.
The forward's current deal at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire next June, though, and a recent report claimed that he was still hopeful of completing a summer move to Barcelona.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are so determined to keep hold of their captain that they are readying a contract offer worth £250,000 a week plus bonuses.
The report, though, claims that Aubameyang also wants assurances that head coach Mikel Arteta will be given the necessary transfer funds to improve the squad before committing his future.
The former Borussia Dortmund attacker has scored 66 goals in 107 appearances for his London club since arriving in January 2018.
